Sasha Seaward

Have you come across Freyaluna before? I’ve been watching this gorgeously green, cruelty free skincare company on Instagram for a while now, but have only recently managed to get my excited mitts on a few of the products.

After recently attending a zero waste talk with Bea Johnson, I have been being extremely careful with what I choose to put on the blog. I’ve really been taking into account how ethical a company is, and Freyaluna is just perfect. Ingredients are fair trade, grown using sustainable methods and organic when possible. Freyaluna will often choose locally sourced over organic – as for some ingredients choosing organic could mean having to source overseas – increasing the carbon footprint. The dark glass containers have been chosen to keep products fresh, but also so that they can be reused, or recycled. Packaging is kept to a minimum, and is all re-used from packaging that Freyaluna has already received. All in all, top marks from me!

Freyaluna is one of the more luxurious hand crafted skincare ranges. Prices are a little higher than what I might usually pay, but what you get in return is just beautiful. Everything has been thoroughly thought through, from the beautiful aromatherapy blends, to that gorgeous little cork in the top of your body oil. And lets not forget the amount of care that has gone into keeping the company ethical. You will be receiving a product that has had so much love and care put into it, that you can’t help but fall for it yourself.

Freyaluna Lavender & Sandalwood Soothing Body Oil

This Lavender & Sandalwood Soothing body oil is currently saving me, body and soul! My beautiful children just aren’t sleepers, and I have been woken up approximately 1-2 hourly for almost three years now. And currently with my tiniest teething, nights are just …well… not even worth going to bed for quite frankly. Thank goodness for this body oil, which is basically relaxation bottled.

It contains essential oils of lavender, chamomile, sandalwood, vetivert, bergamot, and clary sage in an almond oil base. You can use it as a massage oil (Mr BBB are you reading this? HINT HINT), a body oil, or in the bath. I personally have been using it as a body oil most nights and it really helps me to peacefully drift off into a deep slumber, instead of my usual hour (or more!) of lying awake fretting and worrying. It’s only a shame I can’t slather it on my kids really…. oh well!

I love the bottle this one comes in too. It’s got a real apothecary look to it, complete with cute little cork top. And there’s even some real lavender inside too!

Freyaluna Lavender & Sandalwood  Soothing Bath Salts

Unfortunately I’ve only had the chance to use these Lavender and Sandalwood Soothing Bath Salts once so far. But, as expected, they were completely divine and the perfect accompaniment to the Soothing Body Oil.

These contain sea salt, himalayan pink salt, epsom salts, lavender flowers, and essential oils of lavender, chamomile, and sandalwood. I’m a huge fan of epsom salts, I find them the perfect remedy for aching limbs and tired minds!

I have found myself just opening the jar each time I’m in the bathroom, and taking in a deep breath. The aroma coming from the oils is just incredible and wonderfully soothing. I’m going to make it my homework to use these (actually in the bath) weekly, as the benefits will just be marvellous. (I actually think weekly baths… without phones – or children! should be on doctors orders, for everyone!)

Freyaluna Regain Your Balance – Harmonising Facial Moisturiser

So I’ve chatted quickly about the gorgeous Harmonising Facial Moisturiser before, but I have been using it for a little longer now so ….have my thoughts on it changed…. nope. It’s lovely!

It contains grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, rosewater, candelilla wax, sodium bicarbonate, essential oils lavender, ylang-ylang and geranium, benzyl alcohol, salicylic acid, glycerine, and sorbic acid. From my experiences of moisturisers this is quite oil heavy, which as a face oil user, I love! However, it’s certainly something to bear in mind if you are not into oils. I personally find that it feels silky smooth and wonderfully nourishing for my skin. It creates a beautiful even skin tone and dewey complexion, I am pretty happy to wear just this and ditch the foundation.

However, this is the only Freyaluna product that I’m not sure if I could repurchase. At £45 a bottle it’s just too far out of my price range *sob*. BUT, saying that I do feel like if you are a serum then moisturiser kinda person, you could replace both products with just this which would save a bit of money!

So far I’m pretty blown away by these beautiful products, and I fully expect to use more from Freyaluna in the future! I’d love to hear if you have used any products from Freyaluna, and what you thought of them? Just so I can work out what to put on my wish list!

*These products were kindly given to me as PR samples, but my opinions on them are completely honest and very much my own, as they are for every review I do!
